I just got Kirsten's Winter Outfit today, and it's really really cute! The white shirt is really soft, and the skirt is so adorable! They both look to be very well made. My only complaint is that the outfit came out of the box smelling like kerosene! It's quite overpowering! I've got some Febreeze that I can spray on it, but I just was not expecting that smell! Has anyone else ever had that problem? I don't think Kirsten wants to try on her new dress until the smell dies down a bit. I also got Meet Molly (for $5!) and I'm hoping to get the other books from her set that I need before the month is out. I really like the way the hardcover books look, and the Molly books are one of my favorite series. Anyway, I highly recommend this outfit (especially once the smell wears off!)!

Kirsten's winter outfit is one of my favourites as well! You'll love it. Sorry to hear it has a bad smell, hopefully you will be able to get it out.

My Kirsten winter outfit smelled too! I took it to AGP as a return and purchased another. I had to open five boxes and see which one did not smell!!!

I have sprayed both items with Febreeze and hopefully that will help! I think I'm going to keep the little box it came in to store the skirt, it "sheds" quite a bit. It was on top of the white shirt in the box, and got wool all over it, but a lint roll fixed it right up!

I don't think my Kirsten's Winter outfit smelled when I got it. I hope the smell will go away.

I think the smell may be some sort of moth repellant. Samantha's winter cape smells bad too. A few people have had the same problem. I have had the skirt for years and it has never shed. I wonder what they make it out of now? I know the shirt is now soft thin flannel and the one I have is regular cotton.

Could you run it through Dryel? I put all kinds of stuff through that - including wool blazers and Irish wool sweaters - and stuff I've worn in smoky pubs in England and it gets EVERYTHING out. Also - stuff doesn't shrink because it doesn't get wet; the Dryel just steams it. Smells like you washed it and doesn't get that dingy look that stuff gets after it's been dry cleaned a few times in filthy, end-of-the-day dry cleaning fluid.
